Dinner Rolls or Bun

By Sherly at 2009-07-28 10:52:50

Recipe is for 24 Dinner Rolls. I used a bread machine to make dough. Bread machine will definitely ease some work. You can also use a food processor to make dough. You can do the whole procedure by hand also. To do that please refer to my previous recipe for Basic Bread Recipe

About yeast, I have found that little over 1/2 tsp. is enough to make 24 rolls while yeast packet instruction says more than 3 tsp.? I don't know why? I have used Fleischmann's instant dry yeast.

Ingredient:
1 Egg in room temperature plus enough warm water equals to 1 & 1/2 cups + 2 tbl
1/4 cup Oil
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 tsp. Salt
4 & 1/2 cups All purpose flour
1/2 tsp. Yeast

Method:
1. Remove the bread pan from the bread maker. Attach the kneading blade onto the shaft. Make sure all ingredients, except water, are at room temperature.
2. Place whole un-cracked egg in a bowl of warm water for 15 minutes to bring it to room temperature.
3. Add warmed cracked egg in a measuring cup and add enough water to equal the amount of 1 & 1/2 cups + 2 tbl.
4. Add egg and warm water mixture into bread pan.
5. Add oil in bread pan
6. Add sugar and salt to the bread pan.
7. Add flour to the bread pan
8. Tap the pan to settle all dry ingredients.
9. Carefully measure yeast with a measuring spoon and add to the bread pan.
10. Place the bread pan to bread maker. Press down on rim until it snaps into place. close lid.
11. Select Dough Program and press Start.
12. The dough should be slightly tacky on touch. When it beeps, remove the bread pan.

13. Place the bread dough on lightly floured surface. Divide into pieces and shape in rolls. To make clover bun, divide one ball in three small balls and put together.
14. Place rolls and buns in a greased baking pan. Cover and let rise in a warm place for one hour or until double in size.
15. Brush it with oil or egg wash (egg and water mixture).
15. Bake at 400ºF for 15 to 20 minutes or until done.
16. Remove from heat and let it cool for few minutes.
