Carrot Halwa ( Gajar ka Halwa) By Sherly at 2007-10-26 09:36:11
|
3 lb / 1.5 Kg App. - Carrots 2cups - Milk 1 - 14 oz cane condensed milk ( you can use Mawa instead of condense milk) 1 cup - Sugar 4-8 tbs. - Butter 1/2 tsp. -cardamom powder Few cashew nuts and raisins.
Wash carrots and scrape off the skin. Grate carrots. Food processor would do a better and quick job.
In a big pan add grated carrots and milk. Cook until all the milk evaporates and carrots are fully cooked. Stir occasionally. Add sugar and stir. If it catches the bottom, add one tbls. of butter at a time and stir, scraping the bottom. Add condense milk in it. Let it cook until color of carrot changes to dark orange and leaves sides of pan. Remove from heat and pour it in a greased dish. Garnish it with nuts and raisins. You can always find my recipes at: http://jcsearch.com/blogs/Sherly'sRecipes |
